Collaborative Models for integrated Passenger And Cargo Transport
Despite their obvious similarities, passenger and freight transport are usually planned and operated separately. This project explores how these systems can work together more effectively.
By modelling how transport companies make decisions and can potentially interact, the project develops smart coordination strategies that allow passengers and freight to share transport capacity, while individual companies maintain control over their own operations. Collaborative systems can better utilize existing infrastructure, and with that, reduce congestion, emissions, and staff shortages. Ultimately, this supports more sustainable, flexible, and efficient transport systems that benefit travellers, transport companies, and society as a whole.
